Michele's Story
My name is Michele, and animals have been at the center of my life for as long as I can remember.
I started riding horses at seven years old and competed in Hunter Jumper for over twenty years. Growing up, my parents never said no to a pet — and I took full advantage of that. Every imaginable animal had a home with us at one point or another. That early life shaped how I see pets: not as accessories or hobbies, but as family members who depend on you to make good decisions for them.
In 1992, I walked into a small animal clinic as a receptionist and never really left veterinary medicine. Over the years the role grew. I was taught hands-on skills by the veterinarians I worked alongside — drawing labs, giving vaccines, assisting with daily cases. At my second clinic I started at the front desk again, and was eventually asked to step into the role of practice manager.
That's where everything clicked.
As practice manager, I handled all the ordering and inventory. That meant I got to see exactly which products the veterinarians trusted and recommended to their clients — and which ones were just well-marketed. You learn quickly that there's a wide gap between what looks good on a shelf and what actually holds up in a clinical setting. That knowledge doesn't leave you.
I carried it with me when I started All Paws Market.

Our home currently belongs to two miniature dachshunds, a German Shepherd, three cats, two birds, and two leopard geckos. Every corner of the animal kingdom is represented here, which means I'm never shopping for a species I don't know. When I find something worth carrying, it's because I've thought about it the way a multi-pet household has to.
