These Halloween dog treats are Pup-Ornaut freeze-dried ice cream in ghost and pumpkin shapes, made from apples, pumpkin puree, and nonfat Greek yogurt. Three ingredients, and none of them is candy.

The shapes are the reason to buy this one. Every piece is a pumpkin or a ghost, light and crunchy because it is freeze-dried rather than frozen. Nothing melts, so a ghost is still a ghost when the dog gets it.

Pumpkin and apple dog ice cream, no freezer needed

Apples come first on the ingredient list, then pumpkin puree, then nonfat Greek yogurt. Once it is freeze-dried it is shelf stable and needs no refrigeration, so the bag can wait by the door with the leash until the costume goes on.

A fall batch in one bag size

We make the ghosts and pumpkins for fall and Halloween. They come in one bag size. When the fall batch sells out, the button on this page goes off, and we do not take orders ahead.

The ghosts and pumpkins are freeze-dried in small batches and shipped by Sniff and Shift in Malvern, Pennsylvania. For the months without a costume, there is the rest of our freeze-dried dog treats, and a recurring order can be managed on our subscription page.

Questions

What are these Halloween dog treats made of?

Apples, pumpkin puree, and nonfat Greek yogurt. The yogurt is dairy, so the ghosts are not a single ingredient treat.

How many can my dog have in a day?

Our feeding guide is 1 to 2 pieces a day for small dogs, 2 to 3 for medium dogs and 3 to 5 for large dogs. The label lists about 76.8 kcal per ounce.

Do they need to stay frozen?

No. They are freeze-dried, not frozen, which makes them shelf stable with no refrigeration needed.

Are the ghost and pumpkin shapes sold all year?

No. They are a seasonal batch for Halloween, and once the batch is gone the button stays off.

Where are they made?

In Malvern, Pennsylvania, in small batches, by us.
